The Musical

We all are storytellers and writers choose to chase their unique experiences. I have the privilege of seeing parents and youth tap into the celebration that comes with recognizing that their experience matters.

This celebration is at the core of Ruby’s Button.

Not only does the story capture the essence of leading with self-love, the story vouches for the process of accepting how our bodies change as a result of undergoing many surgeries.  Being able to witness this story come to life at the Rosenthal Theatre, and how excited children were to see a story book character look just like them is one of my proudest moments for this piece.

I am very excited to continue to bring this story to larger audiences and impact our youth.

Celebrate!

Lean into you

Celebrate!

That’s all you gotta do

There’s only one you

You don’t have to go far

Celebrate who you are

Ruby was unique and she loved it!

For Ruby, everyday is filled with dancing, singing, and her imagination. Ruby’s deepest desire is to be a performer and to be seen by many.

When Ruby, sees that she is missing her belly button, for the first time, she is afraid to stand out and be unique.

Through the support of her friends, she is reminded that there’s more to her than her missing button and soon remembers that what made her unique was her love for being herself.

Through the eyes of Ruby, differences and originality are celebrated.

Ruby’s Button The Musical is a musical adaptation of the children’s book.
